you can check if Steam is properly installed by following the steps below:
1. Restart your computer and then run the Steam client.
2. Download the Steam client from http://store.steampowered.com/about/
and reinstall it in the original installation location.
Reinstalling Steam in the same location will preserve all previously installed games.
